1. Who are you?
I'm pretty much an average kind of person except I care deeply about other human beings. I can't stand to see anyone suffer, whether I know them or not. I firmly believe that most of the evils in the world are caused by people who never dealt with some basic issues in their souls. I see these issues as wounds that fester over time if not taken care of so they can begin to heal. To me, a festering wound is very very dangerous, whether it is a physical or metaphysical wound.
I also believe that most people want to be better human beings, that it is never too late for any of us to change, no matter how great the crimes we've committed. But for so many it is not so much the desire to change that gets in the way, but where to begin, what to consider the first step in order to move forward.
This website is a first step for those who sincerely want to change and become better people. If just one person changes as a result of it, then he or she passes that change on to whomever he or she knows. I see it as reverse-engineering evil so it becomes good.
2. What happens to the money?
I really don't anticipate making so much money that I would have to consider that question seriously other than paying for the hosting and bandwidth this site requires.But in the unlikely event that thousands of dollars start pouring in, I will do what I have always done with money: share it with those in my life who need it more than me. I've never been rich because I know so many people who need something. My needs are basic. I am a simple person. If I have extra then I share it. I would see no reason to change just because the amount of money left to share changed.
3. Why are you doing this?
I'm selfish. I want a better world. But in order to have that better world I have to do something on a one to one basis that has some effect. This website is the manifestation of my belief that if you heal the small things, then the big things follow. And if enough people heal the small things in themselves, then they will be more tolerant since those who are not beating themselves up over silly little faults, will stop beating up others for minor faults beyond their control. And when those minor faults are healed, then the big ones are taken on. And that leads me straight to my selfish desire: world peace.
4. Does it work?
I don't know. I am not you. I don't know what will work for you. This is just a means for you to heal something in yourself. I do understand the issues involved. My conscience grew as I grew so I had my own faults to deal with. There are things that still make me go ouch when I think of them. But I'm working on them. In many ways, this website is part of that personal healing. It reminds me that I have no excuse to deal with my own stuff if people are out there dealing with huge issues that make mine seem minor and petty.
5. Can I contact you?
It depends on what you want to contact me about. I don't do therapy, so that is out as a reason. Beyond this site, only a professional can help you. I do have a degree in Psychology, but I am not a counselor/therapist nor have I ever played one on TV. To me, that is like having a degree in Philosophy. It doesn't grant me the right to practice, but it does grant me the right to think and examine and explore and thus continue my education in the field of understanding human behavior. It is a lifetime, in the field class with no graduation date except the end of my life cycle.
I also don't want to join your religion, but I will be happy to include it in your links if you are not the kind of church or other structure that discriminates against other human beings, for whatever reason you can conjure up. The links to "churches" I have are not for membership, but ones that offer things like free prayer. Something like prayer doesn't hurt. It is like love. We can never have too much of it.
And please, if at any time someone notices that one of my links endorses hate and intolerance, let me know and I will remove it. As I said, most of these links were chosen because they looked interesting, promising, non-binding, and given freely in the spirit of healing. If they are something else, I put them up unintentionally and will take them down with swift intent.
